Today is a very special day in my business, and I’m excited to finally share it with you 🙂
About six years ago, I launched the Software Architecture Newsletter. At the time, I felt there simply weren’t enough newsletters focused on software architecture, and I wanted a place to share insights about a topic I find endlessly fascinating.
Over the years, the newsletter evolved. New sections were added, and the scope expanded to include software architecture, cloud, AI, development, and more.
It also grew beyond anything I initially imagined – tens of thousands of subscribers, strong engagement, and steady, organic growth.
And after six years, I decided it was time for a change.
To be honest, the branding was…not great. I designed it myself, and it showed. Even the name – Software Architecture Newsletter – always felt temporary, because it was supposed to be temporary.
At some point, it became clear that a proper refresh was long overdue.
So today, I’m happy and proud to introduce:
theVar
theVar is the successor to the Software Architecture Newsletter. It comes with a fresh design, a clearer identity, and a brand-new publishing platform. The newsletter has moved from Mailchimp to Beehiiv, which offers powerful features I didn’t have before, and I fully plan to use them.
At first, theVar will keep the same cadence and core content you’re familiar with – but that won’t last long. More content, higher frequency, deeper original insights…there’s a lot coming.
I’d love for you to check out the first edition of theVar and subscribe to get fresh, thought-provoking, curated insights on AI, software architecture, cloud, and beyond.
And stay tuned – exciting things are ahead 🙂
